grant.doc |
The Ardsley Education Foundation wants to hear your ideas and inspirations. We are working to reach out both within and outside of our community to corporations that may support our endeavors. Reviews are addressed differently by each organization we approach, all with varying timelines, so please don't hesitate to send over your requests!!
Lego Grant - This is an opportunity for a grant the AEF has found and that we are going to try to qualify. This can be used by individual teachers, or grade level teams. It needs to meet certain requirements set out by the Lego Children’s Fund. Here is the link for the full requirements, but highlights are below:
http://www.legochildrensfund.org/Guidelines.html
Grant Highlights:
•The LEGO Children’s Fund will provide quarterly grants for programs, either in part or in total, with a special interest paid to collaborative efforts and in providing matching funds to leverage new dollars into the receiving organization. We will give priority consideration to programs that both meet our goals and are supported in volunteer time and effort by our employees.
•Focuses on early childhood education and development that is directly related to creativity
• Focuses on technology and communication projects that advance learning opportunities
• The LEGO Children’s Fund issues project grants, not general support grants. This allows the Foundation to direct its efforts towards specific areas and limits the duration of the Foundation's commitment.
• Please refer to the link to view the list of exclusions, and what they will NOT provide
Procedures to Apply for a Lego Grant:
1. Teachers will need to think of an idea that fits the requirements
2. Write up a proposal for the AEF. Forms are located on the AEF website. All proposals must be submitted to your Principal for review beforehand.
3. The AEF will take your idea, and fill out all the necessary paperwork required for the Lego Grant.
Additional Grants – the AEF is looking for additional ideas from the teachers!
The AEF is looking into other grant opportunities, but they need our ideas! They are doing the leg work to find companies that offer grants, and they are willing to write the grants. So, please THINK about your ideas for projects, field trips, grade level events, etc. Your ideas will be looked at! Someone on the AEF will try to match your idea to a grant and/or company willing to support it.
Procedures to Submit your Ideas:
1. Come up with an idea that you would like to have funded.
2. Write up a proposal for the AEF. Forms are located on the AEF website. Submit it to Amanda for review beforehand.
3. The AEF will take your idea, search for a grant, and fill out all the necessary paperwork required.
4. There are NO promises that the AEF will be able to find a match, but they will try!
Deadlines:
You can submit your request at any time. Please make sure you send your idea/proposal through your administration.
PTA Grants – don’t forget about the PTA Grants! PTA mini-grants can be used for direct classroom use. The grants provide enhancements to the curriculum through the purchase of materials or resources not covered in the school budget.
